TOLEDO, OH -- Long-time swing venue "Citi Lounge" is preparing to close its doors after five years of business, with the expiration of the venue's lease and the owners' option to not renew it.
The announcement came today when co-owner Alberto Spallino distributed an email informing guests.
"I'm writing to let you all know about the going away party for Citi Lounge. The last day of business will be this Saturday, June 17th with a special performance from San Francisco Indigo (formerly Indigo Swing)," Spallino said. "Thanks again for all the Great Times & Memories at the Citi."
The Club Tonic, and the Red Room, clubs also co-owned by Spallino are also scheduled to be closed.
Among the nationally known swing bands that performed at the Citi Lounge were THE ATOMIC FIREBALLS, ROYAL CROWN REVUE, THE MIGHTY BLUE KINGS and CHERRY POPPIN' DADDIES.
